Gift certificates can be purchased for any amount, and come uniquely gift wrapped complete with a 100% satisfaction guarantee to the recipient. All the recipient has to do is provide clear close up photos of their dogs face and/or body, and provide any choices of background color for their painting.

A gift certificate includes the completed portrait, and includes all shipping costs associated with the gift certificate and finished painting. Additional matting and framing is available by request.

Commissioned Portraits - It's a simple as 1, 2, 3!

  • Commissioned portraits start with a general questionnaire. While I prefer to take my own photographs and meet your pet personally, (a local photo shoot is included at no extra charge) I can also easily work from your photos. I pride myself on my ability to capture the unique personality of your pet, and will rely heavily on your input as to which photos best represent the subject's personality. Capturing the animal's unique spirit and character requires clear photos. I recommend close up head shots, taken at the same level as the animals gaze, along with a full body shot (if a full body shot is desired) in a favorite pose, sleeping with a favorite toy, or lounging in their favorite family spot. Digital photos are preferred. (Click Here for example image)
  • After preliminary discussions together, a digital draft composition will be provided by for your approval. Color schemes and finished painting sizes will be confirmed. At this point you will provide me with any feedback, i.e. lift the dogs ears, put more curl in the tail, whatever changes you want. I'll then make the necessary changes and resubmit them for your final approval.
  • Once I have your final approval, I'll begin working on the portrait. When the painting is complete, I will send you a final digital image. At this time, slight subtle shifts that will further enhance the previously agreed upon design can be identified. We will then finalize shipping or delivery details.

A typical commissioned painting takes 1-2 weeks for the drawing to be completed and submitted for your approval, and then an additional 2-3 weeks from the point of approval through to completion. This window can change based on my commission load, complexity of the portrait, or exhibition schedule. Rush orders are welcome, but could incur an additional fee and will be discussed prior to order.

Important Points to Keep In Mind:

  • I will need a minimum of one shot of the animals face, with a clear view of their eyes - It is almost impossible to correctly paint a specific gaze from a photo with red eye. Please avoid using a "flash" if at all possible.
  • If your pet has markings which you would like included, please make certain that the photos clearly depict them. The more photos, the better as far as I'm concerned! I promise to return all your photos in the same condition received.
  • If you've already given thought to where you'd like your finished portrait hung, let me know right from the start. That will help us to choose the composition size and color scheme.
  • My Personal Guarantee - I guarantee your complete satisfaction with every painting commissioned. Your finished painting will be a source of joy and pride which you'll be eager to share with friends and family. If you are unhappy with the finished painting, upon receipt, please contact me immediately, so that we may discuss your reasons and arrange for corrections to be made.
  • Pricing - Prices vary with size, number of subjects, complexity and background. Prices begin at $300 for an 8" x 10" cameo style portrait, and increase from there according to size, and complexity. A firm quote will be given after discussing the exact type of portrait you would like to have.

"Thank you SO much for your wonderful work! We love the painting of Blue, and will proudly display it in our home. You've got talent, girl!"
Kandis Allison - Battleground, Washington

"Dear Kelly - I'm so glad I had you do Ruby's portrait for Arlie's birthday gift. Ruby passed away recently, and although it's been difficult, we are at least comforted by the lasting memory of her you provided, lying in the sun, one of her favorite past times..... Thank you again"
